Lu Zhao Yao and her grandfather are bound by duty to guard the seal that has kept the Demon King's son in chains. When an intruder barges in, the Demon King's son escapes and falls into the hands of the righteous sect. Zhao Yao saves him and gives him the name Mo Qing. In trying to obtain the Wan Jun Sword, Zhao Yao mistakenly thinks that Mo Qing has betrayed her.
Five years later, Lu Zhao Yao manages to establish a connection with Qin Zhi Yan (Xiao Yan) of the Immortal Sect. She also returns to Wan Lu Man, hoping to reclaim her position. She discovers that Mo Qing, the Demon King's son, has reclaimed his name as Li Chen Lan and currently sits in the center of power. Lu Zhao Yao uses his attraction towards her and colludes with Jiang Wu (Dai Xu) with a scheme of her own. Secrets from the past are revealed. Lu Zhao Yao realizes who her enemies are and who has stayed by her side all along.

He’s the Demon King’s devil heart and after the devil was gone, he was sealed in the Demon Mountain. He is a tolerant and dedicated character. When he escaped from the seal of the devil, he was besieged by ten major sects because of his identity as the "son of the devil".
When his life was hanging by a thread, he was rescued by Lu Zhao Yao and was given the name, "Mo Qing". Lu Zhao Yao showed lots of care for Mo Qing and he started to develop feelings for Lu Zhao Yao.
When the Wanjun Sword was revealed, the sealed power was revived, and after obtaining the Wanjun Sword, he became the master of the Wan Lu Gate. After all the hardships, Luo Mingxuan was killed and the Wanjun Sword was sealed, he and Zhao Yao finally got married. It was also because of Zhao Yao's fate that he was sent to the resting place, where he found his biological father. Together, they had one son and one daughter.
Bai Lu as
Lu Zhao Yao
An innocent and bubbly girl who lived in Feng Demon Mountain. Upon leaving the mountain, she met Luo Ming Xuan and listened to his words "to do good deeds" and therefore, she saved Li Chen Lan, the son of the Demon King who was under siege and hanging by a thread, and named him "Mo Qing".
After her grandfather was killed by Luo Ming Xuan, she swore to oppose the Zongmen turning cold-blooded and feared by everyone. She became the Demoness, and established Wan Lu Gate as its master. She’s arrogant and ostentatious, she is known for her flamboyant ways in the pugilistic world. However despite her bad reputation, she has a strong sense of justice and always stands up for the weak.

Later, in order to get revenge, Qin Zhi Yan, who broke into the maze, accidentally used her blood to unblock the spell, and Lu Zhao Yao magically changed into Qin Zhi Yan's appearance. After unblocking, Zhao Yao was able to find a chance to return to the Wan Lu Sect. At this time, the Wan Lu Sect was unprecedentedly powerful and faintly overwhelmed the sect force.
After returning to Wan Lu Gate, Zhao Yao tried to avenge Li Chen Lan and regain her position as the master of the sect. After going through all kinds of difficulties, she finally discovered that Li Chen Lan was infatuated with her.
After many hardships, Luo Ming Xuan was killed and the Wanjun Sword was sealed in Li Chen Lan. She and Li ChenLan finally got married, and they had one son and one daughter.
Xiao Yan as
Qin Zhi Yan
Sect disciple and the daughter of Qin Yu, heir to Xuan Yutang, one of the top ten sects. She is both gentle and tough, but because her father was harmed by Liu Su Ruo's plan, she wanted to go to the Wan Lu Gate to seek revenge. By coincidence, she met and became acquainted with Zhao Yao, who was sealed by Qin Qian Xian, thus making her the only person who can see Zhao Yao's real appearance. During the day, she was timid and weak but when her identity was taken over by Zhao Yao during the night she acted boldly, which puzzled everyone. She likes Liu Cang Ling, but mistakenly thought that Liu Wei killed her father. In the end, she didn't stay with Liu Cang Ling, but became the new sect master of Wan Lu Sect..
Dai Xu as
Jiang Wu
Son of the old Demon King, he’s a reticent and silent man who only loves Lu Zhao Yao and is loyal to her. He takes over the position of the Sect Leader after Zhao Yao's disappearance, and rebuilds the sect to her original wishes. Jiang Wu's temperament is uncertain, he behaves wickedly, with ruthless methods.
His life goal is to seize Wang Lu Sect and to kill Li Chen Lan. Occupying the city of Jiangzhou at the border of immortals and demons - he met Zhao Yao as Qin Zhi Yan and Jiang Wu fell in love with Lu Zhao Yao at first sight. He not only likes Zhao Yao, but also likes her character. But in her heart, she doesn't like Jiang Wu. In the end, Luo Ming Xuan killed him with the Liuhetian sword in order to save Zhao Yao.
