Clarification of Xu Kai's domestic violence false accusations

When 'Story of Yanxi Palace' was aired in 2018, the drama hype was high around the world and Xu Kai's character, Fu Heng became the admiration of the audience for his noble demeanor. Shortly after, rumors suddenly broke out that the beloved "Fu Heng" actor was accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend, an internet celebrity. Xu Kai was quickly attacked by the whole network, although it didn't jeopardize the drama's popularity but Xu Kai was bombarded with negative comments every day calling him "domestic violence man" or famous mocking words "JB guy" a short form of "Jiātíng bàolì" means domestic violence in Chinese. Xu Kai adamantly denied the accusations but media played his words in his statement "I admit there is push and shove BUT no domestic violence." They ignored the important words of "no domestic violence" but instead spread around the words "I admit..." and vaguely combined it with the word domestic violence in their headline and only explaining it in their article that he denied the accusations. The headline prompted the readers to believe that Xu Kai admitted to the accusations. However just 1 week after the accusations was spread, a video surfaced showing his ex-girlfriend forcing him to kneel and cursed at him with all kind of bad words , showing her superiority in the relationship. This instantly changed the opinion of the whole network that the accusations was indeed false hence, he was able to continue his career. However, over the years haters still used this scandal to slander him, spreading false accusations around that he did it, distorting the truth that has already been clarified. Below are the evidence and explanation of how his ex-girlfriend set up the whole accusations and explanation of how no domestic violence has ever occurred.

How did it start? In the turbulent and short relationship, his internet celebrity ex-girlfriend Dajin(Daikin), and her legion of fans has always loved to humiliate Xu Kai. She would control who is on his WeChat contact list as seen on the statement below which was from one of Xu Kai's female friend. However, Dajin claimed to be the victim in the relationship. During their relationship, aside from mocking his wealth status being lower than her, she would demand unreasonable things from him such as forcing him to apologize while being recorded on a video for not picking her up at the airport (there is video evidence). Due to this situation, Xu Kai broke up with her which she did not take well.

After breaking up

After the break up in early 2015, Dajin had been very bitter and even once swore on her livestream that she would make Xu Kai regret for breaking up with her. She continued to harass him to get back together to the point where he had to send her a message on her Weibo, asking her to stop stalking him. But she continued with her harassment by stalking him at Hengdian even after he started his career as an actor, spreading false rumors on the internet that he slept with multiple actresses and "cheating on her" (note that they already broke up). Above is the screenshot of Dajin/Daikin's legion of fans harassing Xu Kai in November 2015, calling Xu Kai scumbag for getting together with Zhang Nan by "dumping" Dajin despite them already broken up before April 2015. She continued accusing Xu Kai of "cheating on her" even though they have already broken up. (This is important as the reason why she came up with domestic violence accusations).

It all started when Untouchable Lovers started to air

When Xu Kai's first drama 'Untouchable Lovers' aired, Dajin got jealous (reminder that she used to be proud that she has the higher status in the relationship) and went on to stalk his page and his friends' list.

Above is the screenshot evidence taken on 18th February 2018, showing that she stalked Xu Kai's page and assumed that Bai Lu was his new girlfriend, not knowing that Bai Lu is a fellow actress in the drama he was filming at that time. Dajin further assumed that the bedsheets in the photo that Bai Lu posted was the one she gave to Xu Kai years ago. She then continued to add to her story saying Xu Kai cheated on her by giving Bai Lu the bedsheets.

The lack of response from Xu Kai resulted in her adding on another accusation the next day. However, she did not directly post it on her own social media but instead got her fan to do it for her saying that Xu Kai took "soft money" from her (extra money than what was agreed to be paid, like an extortion).

She reposted a screenshot that was posted by her fan who claimed Xu Kai has extorted Dajin before - which showed her transfer of 8888yuan to Xu Kai. However, there were no indicators on what the money was for but her fan directly accused him of extorting money from Dajin. Dajin reposted it subtly saying that "it happened."

Above is a passerby at Douban, analysing the consistency of Dajin's fans' claims about Xu Kai taking extorted money from her. Just by looking at the post above, Dajin has already came out with many accusations all within 3 days.

Accusations after accusations, Xu Kai himself responded.

24th February 2018 @ 4:17 AM, Xu Kai himself has finally responded - talking about how the messages on the chat came to be. Apparently, Dajin's fan pretended to be an internet celebrity and approached Xu Kai to get his number to "befriend" him. However, Xu Kai was busy handling his drunk friends who were laying on the floor and it was his other drunk friends at the table who did what the fan claimed - the transfer of money and later posted that as a soft money accusation.

After Xu Kai's early morning 24th February clarification, Dajin posted another statement on her social media on the same day of 24th February 2018 @ 10:40am, claiming that Xu Kai has domestic violence issues and has always beaten her during their relationship. *note that over the accusations the past few days, she has never mentioned any issues of domestic violence*

Mysteriously, about 18 minutes after Dajin's Weibo post, someone who claimed to be a passerby said that she saw the melon spreading on Weibo and created a post asking if anyone's heard of the rumours about Xu Kai , Bai Lu and Xu Kai's domestic violence issue. *note that during this time, Xu Kai and Bai Lu were both newcomers and only had supporting roles in Untouchable Lovers*

Dajin's accusation post was not spread as it was only her fans and herself who were commenting (as seen in the screenshot below) which led netizens to conclude that Dajin was the one who created the post in Douban and spreading the rumours.

Old posts work injuries photos being used in the accusations post

Dajin used multiple pictures to claim that Xu Kai caused her those injuries when in fact those photos were posted by herself in the the past with the caption saying that she got hurt while working. Moreover, looking at the dates that she posted these photos, it was impossible for Xu Kai to be with her as they have already broken up in 2015. The pictures were posted in 2017 and on the date that she posted, Xu Kai was away filming 'Autumn Fairytale'.

To conclude, Xu Kai has never engaged in any domestic violence on Dajin/Daikin as she claimed to be. Looking at the series of events, these accusations were born out of jealousy.

However, this post does not undermine that the rightful victim of domestic violence can speak up without being judged. We should treat every claim as serious accusations but at the same time, we should also seek out resources on the follow-up of the accusations before spreading the wrong information which could end up hurting another party of being falsely accused and being taken advantage of by the pretending predator.
