Upon entering the Arsenal Military Academy, he has experienced the sacrifices of his companions, overcame many hurdles and difficulties which gradually made Gu Yanzhen grow and mature.

There, he met Xie Xiang, who was in actual fact disguised as a man. He became a flower protector, caring for her in words and showing his support through his actions.
Be it training or assessment, Gu Yan Zhen's first thought was always Xie Xiang and will always be the first to rush over to Xie Xiang when she's in danger.
In the training of the military school, Gu Yan Zhen has gradually grown into a responsible, trustworthy, stable and loyal man and friend. Later on, he devoted himself to the revolution and became a true patriotic young man.

After her brother's death, Xie Xiang lied to her parents and disguised herself as a man in order to enter the Arsenal Military Academy, in place of her brother - Xie Liang Chen.
Simple, brave, kind, firm-willed, good at martial arts, strong sense of justice, she met the wealthy Gu Yan Zhen and the steady Shen Jun Shan and ultimately became their classmate.
She was initially infatuated with Shen Jun Shan but later on gradually fell in love with Gu Yan Zhen. In the end, together with her teammates, they grew and fought against the enemies.

The second master of the Shen family, a rich young man with extraordinary temperament on the outside but a firm solid heart inside and does not have trust in others which led him to being disadvantaged. He is clear of his goals and ambitions, a true patriot at heart.
Shen Jun Shan would appear every time Xie Xiang was in danger, saving her from injuries. After interacting and getting along for a period of time, Shen Jun Shan realised that there is something different about Xie Xiang, doubting her true identity.

A famous celebrity who is bold in love and hate. She has an enviable appearance and there are many suitors around her. At first, she hated Gu Yan Zhen after being embarrassed and humiliated by him in front of everyone's eyes.
Later on, Qu Man Ting was ridiculed and humiliated by a few young aristocrat ladies. During this time, Gu Yan Zhen stepped forward and helped her out of the embarrassing situation.
Since that event, Qu Man Ting's hatred slowly dimmed, turning into a deep romantic feeling for Gu Yan Zhen.
